Who is Escape Kitty?

Let me introduce myself. I am Escape Kitty.

I got my start on Sept 1, 2010 as I was out playing in the yard enjoying the birds and squirrels. Really just minding my own business. Happy. Content. Daydreaming.

When, but in an instant, I caught a movement in the corner of my eye. Since cats are noted for their superior vision, I had to do a double take because I thought my eyesight had failed me. I shut my kitty eyes for a moment and reopened them to disbelief.

A coyote? In MY yard? Could it be? And he's drooling my way? Move move move! Find my mom . Run to safety.

Big mistake! Really big mistake. Now she never lets me outside. Done - left to dream. ahhhhh but Kitty dreams really do come true.

So come follow me! I am off to Escape.

Escape Kitty - Little Miss -Scraps of Elegance

This is Little Miss also known as Escape Kitty.
The elegant delightful dainty Scraps Of Elegance Kit for the month of July featured Bo Bunny's beautiful Little Miss Collection.  So Miss Kitty decided to play along with the dainty themed papers.

Kitty is playing dress up - pearls, a hat, some lace and flowers.  Just puuuurfect.  She was planning a tea party.  She was hoping that the birds in the cages would join her.   To Kitty's keen ears, it sounded as if they were singing a tune saying "hey let me outta here here here".

Well then,  that's just what she did. The cages flew open and the birds hesitated for only a moment before they hopped to the edge and flapped their wings to freedom.

"Come back, tea's being served" yelled Kitty.  But they were long gone.

For the first time ever, Kitty was caught at her own game -the 'ol escape routine.  Duped by two birds.
There is a first for everything Kitty.

Little Miss was designed using the July Scraps Of Elegance Kit and the design is from the Dusty Attic August sketch challenge by Michelle Grant.

I used the Dusty Attic Sweet Pea Border DA0593 to hold up the bird cages.  I also used the Dusty Attic in Bloom - Bridal Veil DA0805

Here is a close up of the Dusty Attic Blooms in Bridal Veil.  I simply took off the stamens, added a tan punch from the McGill Starburst punch and then glued the stamens back on top.

My background was made by tearing several different patterned papers from the Bo Bunny Little Miss collection.  I also included masking tape pieces as well.  Then I applied matt finish Mod Podge over my paper strips and tape to make sure the tape does not come off in the future.

After my Mod Podge dried, I took some gesso and a little water and painted a thin white wash over the strips just softening things up a bit.

Thanks Michelle for the design.
