Flying Unicorns and 2Crafty share Kitty's Limelight

Howdy everyone.  I am here today to share a project pairing 2Crafty Chippies with  Flying Unicorn's June Kit, Your Passion Your Art and primarily the Mixed Passion add-on kit ( which is primarily flowers).

This month I had some assistance from my darling kitty, Escape Kitty.  

She fancies herself on top of the world "living it up".   Humans merely her adoring subjects.  That's at least how I am treated at home.  Those of you with pets - raise your hand if you can relate. 

The June kit was filled with 13Arts paper - the Starlight Collection.  It is a dreamy ethereal type collection with soft heavenly feeling papers and colors with this accent piece as a great contrast.   Kitty decided on the contrast paper  to best fit her personality. 

As for chippies,  I used a new release, the "Chained Circles".  These are versatile quite intricate.  I also used "World Globe and Ink Set"  m00478 and the title piece, "Live it up".

I did paint the globe with white to make it pop a bit but left the " Chained Circles " plain. 

Oh and how can I ever forget Kitty's original image?

Escape Kitty's May Kitty of the Month - Flying Unicorns Your Passion Your Art

It's that time of the month when Escape Kitty tries her best to dazzle the kit.  Spring has taken hold here and the warm weather is upon us.  With that comes a new sense of adventure and desire to get out of the house to explore.  

Time for some sea diving exploration.  The 13Arts papers Mental Vacation collection gave Kitty a chance to take that much needed mental vacation.  Isn't she darling with hr dive mask and snorkel?

ESCAPE KITTY Welcomes the New Year with The Flying Unicorns Jan Kit

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Escape Kitty and Flying Unicorns want to welcome you to 2015 by showing you the January Kit of the Month.   It's cold where we live so Kitty decided to celebrate all things warm and lovely so she did a garden scene with her place squarely in the middle of nature. 

Kitty would rather be basking in the warm sunshine, surrounded by butterflies and tall grasses instead of snowdrifts, but she made the most of her snowy situation.    She loved pawing though the January kit looking at the amazing Riddersholm papers that came in it. 

Kitty added a few chippy pieces from her 2Crafty chippy stash - 2Crafty Chipboard "Shrub Set 2", "Dandelions", and tiny ATC "Birdhouses".   You can find some 2Crafty7 chippies in the Unicorn store here.

Flying Unicorns Kitty of the Month - Jan Kit

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Kitty is starting out the new year wishing she were in a warm summery place. A vacation, or purrrhaps visiting her friends "down under" where it's sunny and full of green and flowers and butterflies.  She loves watching butterflies.

She is also happy sitting home and pawing through scrap supplies from the January kit.   The gorgeous papers by Riddersholm and the Prima embellishments. 

Kitty also added a few chipboard pieces from her stash from 2Crafty: 2Crafty Chipboard Shrub Set 2 M00447, "Dandelions", and the ATC "Birdhouses".  They were all painted with soft colors to blend with the delicate graphics on the Riddersholm papers.

Prima Teams With CSI - Colors Stories Inspiration 

Prima Design Team members are Special Investigators at CSI for the month of December.  

This is Case file S365-10 if you would like to play along.  You can find it here.  

In order to play, you need to include two items from the evidence list into your projects and one from the testimony.  Plus use all 5 colors in some way.  

Escape Kitty is the star of this piece with her Santa hat and her poker face.  Can't tell if she has been naughty or nice - I'll have to go with nice.  

Her journaling tag says: 

Thankful for many things: naps, grass, warm fires and blankets

Her evidence choices included in the layout were using flowers and leaves and using something powdery  - with the embossing powder used on the cardboard for snow.

Escape Kitty is too cute to Scare - (Flying Unicorns Nov Kit)

Too Cute to Scare?  Yes indeedy!

Escape Kitty at least believes as much.  And the mind can be a powerful thing. She really is fearless for the most part. 

 She does enjoy going out on beautiful Autumn afternoons (supervised of course lest she hightail it out of the yard and run down the street to cause her brand of mischief). 

To kick off the Nov kit reveal for Flying Unicorns Kitty style...

Our main kit  is jammed packed with BoBunny goodness this month and some Prima wonders as well. 

Kitty picked some 2Crafty Chippies to celebrate the Autumn Halloween season also.  The chipboard pieces "Too Cute to Scare" and  "Jack-O-lantern border" has been painted with Prima Chalkboard paint and covered with Prima glitter and Glass Beads.

Flying Unicorns Team Up with Once Upon a Sketch

Flying Unicorns is Teaming with Once Upon A Sketch for Oct

Two great teams  joining together this month - Flying Unicorns  and Once Upon a Sketch for a month of fun.

Once upon a Sketch is a monthly sketch challenge with an added twist of including journaling into the project.  The journaling has a monthly theme and can be hidden on the back, tucked behind a tag or in an envelope - such like that.  It is meant to have a reflective element.   

The sketches are created by Nadia Cannizzo and always amazing and inspire me.  

 Journaling Theme: "The women/girls etc in our lives..." 

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journaling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journaling (hidden journaling is fine). Acceptable journaling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journaling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journaling is!

Now to introduce you to the girl in my life - though many of you already know my Escape Kitty.  I adore pets.  I believe they make my house more of a home.  I have cats that are vocal and have different personalities - just as I am sure your pets have interesting personalities.  They know exactly what they want and have no bones about asking - excuse the pun. 

Kitty is very important in our family and she indeed, makes me smile. 

I used the Flying Unicorn Oct kit to complete this sketch which include papers from Magnolia Paper Collection Sea Breeze , Magnolia Once Upon a Time.   I embellished with Prima flowers and wood tiles from DoCraft and corrugated words from Jillybean Soup.   The complete list of supplies is at the end of this post. 

The cool corrugated words were misted with Prima Color Blooms in Cotton Candy and Tea Stain.  I love the texture with Miss Kitty.  It reminds me of her fur.  I also have first hand knowledge that Kitty absolutely adores cardboard boxes.

Escape Kitty stepping out in style - with Flying Unicorns June Kit

Escape Kitty thinks it's time to get fancy and dress up. And she'd be correct...

because the Flying Unicorn has released it's June's 2014 Your Passion. Your Art. It features the long awaited release of the newest collection from Riddersholm Designs Tailgate Marked !

So put on your hat and let Kitty show you what she's done with the kit....

It's so fitting that Kitty is surrounded with butterflies.    Nothing more fun than to sit outside and watch the butterflies flutter about.
Of course they  taunt and tease each other - Kitty trying to swipe a paw at them and the butterflies bombing  and buzzing past her head. It's quite a game to watch.    Yet in the end, the butterflies always win and flutter on their way to a flower or branch.

Kitty's garden retreat includes a water fountain (by Prima of course - Ingvild Bolme).  She loves to lap up the clean,fresh, cool water right from the fountain.  Sometimes she'll splash her paw in it.  The look on her face when the splash hits her nose is priceless.   If you have never seen a Kitty look surprised, well now that's quite an experience.

Easter is coming soon and Escape Kitty is pretty excited.  She's made a few sweet friends and decided that hanging around in the Easter grass would be fun. Nothin like a giant over-sized chocolate rabbit...till she overheard something  that startled her (not that she would ever eavesdrop).  

"You say they eat the ears off first?"

Now for some reason, Kitty doesn't want to leave my warm safe comfy bed. My fearless Kitty.
