Who is Escape Kitty?
Let me introduce myself. I am Escape Kitty.
I got my start on Sept 1, 2010 as I was out playing in the yard enjoying the birds and squirrels. Really just minding my own business. Happy. Content. Daydreaming.
When, but in an instant, I caught a movement in the corner of my eye. Since cats are noted for their superior vision, I had to do a double take because I thought my eyesight had failed me. I shut my kitty eyes for a moment and reopened them to disbelief.
A coyote? In MY yard? Could it be? And he's drooling my way? Move move move! Find my mom . Run to safety.
Big mistake! Really big mistake. Now she never lets me outside. Done - left to dream. ahhhhh but Kitty dreams really do come true.
So come follow me! I am off to Escape.

Episode #11 -Escape Kitty (and Chena) - Taming the Wild

Escape Kitty has run off to Alaska with her bud, Chena, a Standard Poodle (owned by Maggi42). Here they are making friends in a big way. :)
Doesn't get much bigger then a moose.
Making friends and all is just great - but Kitty I WARN YOU.....DO NOT invite these friends to our house for a visit, for holiday dinner, or to stay over summer vacation. Do we understand each other?
Those crazy travelers are taking on the Alaskan wild one animal at a time.
I used Dusty Attic snowflakes, made my own tree out of cardboard, paint and molding paste, and added the touch of burlap to symbolize Kitty and the brown lace to symbolize Chena.
OK true confessions......I am dying to buy the Timmy Holtz Sizzix tree die cut, but have not committed the funds yet. I needed a quick stand in tree, so was forced to use my supplies. I dumpster dived for the cardboard I used to create the tree. LOL. I am a hopeless garbage picker.
Thanks Maggi for your collaboration and for allowing Chena to mastermind this adventure. And thanks for looking.
The Alaska Saga Continues! Escape Kitty and Chena on the Road
The Saga Continues! Chena and Escape Kitty by special guest, Maggi.
My good friend Maggi, (Maggi43), has a beautiful Standard Poodle, Chena, who was longing to escape the confines of her home, and heard about Kitty’s desire to break free. With that, Chena and Kitty cooked up a crazy scheme to borrow Maggi's motor home along with Maggi’s credit card and make their way to Alaska.
These two rogues are now on the road!! Peelin down the highway, roaming about Alaska. Now back at home, Kitty is not one to enjoy the cold snowy ground so I am surprised they picked Alaska. Truth be told, Chena loves the snow and I do believe Chena was the one who said, ”heck, let’s go to Alaska!”
They are BFF's now but I am wondering at what point Chena will get tired of Kitty's complaining about the snow and cold and Kitty’s cold feet.
Well so far no problems. The pair have found a sweet way to stay warm. Aren't they sweet snuggled up together?
Thanks for your collaboration on this Maggi. Please check out her blog and her scrap artwork. She is one amazing talent! Another gorgeous, fun and beautifully scrapped adventure.

Seems the travelers made it to Alaska. It looks like Chena stopped along the way to get her hair done. She looks so cute with a bow in it. Really festive, Chena! Fancy driving too, as they made the trip in good time.
In typical cat fashion, EK's gotta take the high road and hop on top of the sign to get an aerial view. What is it about cats that makes them want to be taller than anything around them?
Wonder what the vacation agenda is? Where are you going next little travelers? And who is changing the kitty litter? At my house, it’s NOT Kitty doing all the litter scooping and changing, so that leaves me to wonder… come to think of it, Kitty doesn’t handle any of the chores around my house. Just what state is the Rolling Doghouse in? ugh. Thank goodness it’s Maggi’s motor home and NOT mine. (sorry Maggi).
This is a gorgeous layout. Makes me laugh – great photoshopping, great florals, layers and Maggi even included the burlap and the brown lace to represent Escape Kitty and Chena.
Thanks for your collaboration on this Maggi. Please check out her blog and her scrap artwork. She is one amazing talent!

Episode #10 - Escape Kitty Friends and Family
Episode #10 - Escape Kitty Friends and Family
My cat has finally escaped. Not really sure if escaped is the correct word. Kidnapped, runaway, schemed perhaps? But none the less, she is not home, she's on the road with her new BFF, Chena.
Chena is a standard poodle owned by fellow scrapper, Maggi42. Chena is Maggi's wild child no doubt. :)
As the saga goes, my poor Kitty cannot romp about her backyard freely any longer because we have a coyote scouting her for a dinner entrée. He apparently polished off the skunk and woodchuck we had living back there and realizes my cat MUST be better then either of those. Ick.
This little scheme was dreamed up by someone, no fingers pointed (Chena). Before I could get a solid handle on the situation, a Motorhome called the Rolling Doghouse pulled up to my door, broke the front gates down giving Kitty the path to freedom. Off they went. Set out for ALASKA.
Someone told them there were NO coyotes in Alaska so it sounded like a perfect paradise. The little darlins will figure it out that it is cold and snowy and will be back soon. Chena may love romping in the snow, but Kitty does not. Chena will tire of hearing Kitty complain that the snow is up over her knees and her paws are frozen, blah blah blah.
For now, they're speeding down the highway with the wind whipping through their fur.
It's a crazy sight to see Chena driving a Motorhome while trying to stick her head out the window the way dogs like to do.
My page shows a bit of the cold that those gals will be feeling when they hit their destination. LOL. Silly little travelers. It's SPRING here.
Thanks for the collaboration on this Maggi42. The burlap I used symbolizes Kitty and the chocolate lace above Chena reminds me of her.

Episode #9-Escape Kitty (and Friend Chena) - Born to Be Wild Adventures
This is the part where all heck breaks loose.
Kicking it up a notch. It appears Escape Kitty has been in contact with a friend. Fellow scrapper, Maggi43, has a dog, Chena who is also interested in hitting the road. Not sure who's crazy idea it was, but Chena supplied the wheels in the form of this lovely "Rolling Doghouse". Who knew a poodle could drive? She also grabbed Maggi's credit card. Maggi's gonna have a few surprises on her next statement.
Breaking down the gates, the Doghouse rolled in, picked up Kitty and pulled away from the curb to set out for Alaska.
Yeah, that's what I said too....Alaska????? Well, someone told them that there were no coyotes in Alaska so the hooligans thought that would be a perfect destination. (If you look closely, Chena is in the drivers seat and Kitty is in the window).
Very odd. I swear that when they pulled away I heard this very song click on:
Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way ...
Like a true nature child
We were born
Born to be wild
( Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf)
Thanks for looking and watch the road doggie. Thanks Maggie43 for your collaboration on this. And here's hoping your pup is a good driver.
SAFE TRAVELS
I used some Dusty Attic gates - but they could not hold Escape Kitty back.
Episode #8- Escape Kitty - Ransom of the Birds
Episode #8- Escape Kitty - Ransom of the Birds
I have a little situation at my house. Nothing that cannot be worked out with some rational minds. But then we are talking about Escape Kitty so bets are off.
There's been talk at my house about my scrapping challenges I am running at Scrapbook.com and elsewhere. One challenge is a Round Robin and an Early Bird challenge at SB.com. OK -honestly, I am the only one talking about it at my house because the 3 men I live with yawn at the conversation topic. :)
As a side not - Recently, Kitty found out that her grandparents are Snow Birds. This happened in Episode #6 EK Goes Postal LO. Snow birds are people who migrate to warmer climates in the winter and return home in the spring like birds so).
Birds birds birds - Round Robin, Early Bird, Snow Bird?????
Any how, all this talk of birds perked Kitty's little furry ears right up. She wants in on the action. She wants me to fork over the birds. Oh sorry baby, NOT gonna happen.
Apparently winter insanity has taken hold of Kitty because she decided to hold my beloved pink distressing tool ( shown in the photo) hostage until ransom is paid. Scrapping has been put on hold at the house until this is worked out peacefully and logically.
Wish me luck.
Episode #7- Escape Kitty Goes Postal --- (Parcel that is!)
Episode #7- Escape Kitty Goes Postal --- (Parcel that is!)
Escape Kitty....ohhhhh where exactly shall I start? She's a Kitty smitten with the idea of freedom and the outdoors. My fault really since I indulged her desire. But one day a coyote in my yard squelched her desires. Not me!!!! It was him that did that, Kitty - not me!!! Really! ( though she glares at me with unbelieving eyes)
Kitty is sick of our cold NY weather and tired of staying inside -like many of us are. She knows that her Grandma and Grandpa "escape" the frigid cold by spending the winter in Florida. She has even heard me use that exact terminology to describe their disappearance from NY.
I've called my parents "snow birds" which is a term used to describe people who migrate to warmer climates for the winter, just as birds would do, then fly home in the spring.
hmmmm, interesting word to use. Finally dawns on Kitty why she loves her Grandparents so much! They are birds. Snow birds. How wonderful and so special.
At any rate, she also knows that Grandma is really soft on her and the rest of the grandkids as compared to me. That means she stands half a fightin chance to get outside if only she can make it to Florida.....plus added bonus, "Snow Birds" all around her? Ohhh my goodness dreams really can come true to be free and have a flock of snow birds all about. :)
So this plan evolved as she was playing inside a box one day - and what cat or small child for that matter does not just love playing in a box? She put two and two together and voila! The mail can deliver her and no one will know!
What she failed to consider was that our postal man had severe cat allergies and returned the box to us immediately! Oh Kitty! Such a silly plan for sure. But I see you in that box.
As a side note - I highly encourage Escape Kitty to think "outside the box" for a more successful plan.
Thanks for looking.... inside this box.
******** ohhhh word just in......rumor has it there are NO coyotes in Australia. You should see the expression on Kitty's face to find that news out. Crazy Kitty is running about the house looking for a new postal box.
