Who is Escape Kitty?

Let me introduce myself. I am Escape Kitty.

I got my start on Sept 1, 2010 as I was out playing in the yard enjoying the birds and squirrels. Really just minding my own business. Happy. Content. Daydreaming.

When, but in an instant, I caught a movement in the corner of my eye. Since cats are noted for their superior vision, I had to do a double take because I thought my eyesight had failed me. I shut my kitty eyes for a moment and reopened them to disbelief.

A coyote? In MY yard? Could it be? And he's drooling my way? Move move move! Find my mom . Run to safety.

Big mistake! Really big mistake. Now she never lets me outside. Done - left to dream. ahhhhh but Kitty dreams really do come true.

So come follow me! I am off to Escape.

Escape Kitty Episode #42 - Leather and Lace - Scraps of Darkness

Escape Kitty Episode #42 - Leather and Lace -created using the Scraps Of Darkness Kits , CSI-Color, Stories Inspiration case file #15.  and with the design sketch of the month from Dusty Attic.

So what's Kitty's tough edgy look all about?  Escape Kitty and her Standard Poodle pup friend, Chena,  have been touring Australia these last several weeks. Kitty tries really hard to keep up with the ever energetic Chena, but her cat legs wear out fast and the desire to nap takes over.

In an effort to keep on sightseeing, she's had to be creative and use her imagination to find transportation.  She's done well so far by hopping a ride in a Kangaroo's pouch but the Kangaroo had to part ways and hop on home.   Her next brilliant idea involves wheels, leather and goggles.

Did you ever wonder where the ruffians stay when they are in the outback?  They camp.  In this orange camper driven by Miss Kitty, herself.   Oh my goodness, can you picture them now bumping along down the highway?   If you see them, just give a little wave and steer clear or better yet, turn the other way.  I cannot vouch for Kitty's driving abilities.

One of the suggested elements this week was to include a "monster"in your layout.  Well now, I'd have to argue that Escape Kitty falls into that category, because I really have created a monster outta that little Kitty.

As for the details of the CSI- Colors, Stories, Inspiration case file #15, here they are:
The rules to the weekly challenge....as if Kitty follows rules.  Oddly in this case, she does.
Each week, a new color palette is provided.  You must use all five colors on the palette.
You must pick two elements from the Evidence list and one from the Testimony list as your journaling inspiration.  You can add more if you like but the bare bones to meet the challenge requirements is two and one respectively.
The Evidence used this week:
  •   I used the zipper with metal
  •  I created a frame around the page
  •  The monster is none other than Kitty herself.   She certainly scares ME at times.

The Testimony technique used this week:
  • Inspirational word:  Imagination ( Kitty's of course)
  •  Document and Adventure

As I mentioned, this was created using Scraps of Darkness Kit from a combination of two kits.  They are great like that!  They are always jam packed with amazing goodies and can be adapted to fit any scrapping style.  Please check us out and say hi.

I used a few Dusty Attic pieces here in my layout.  First, the Barb Wire DA0154, was stained using Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade and topped with Glossy Accents.  Then I used a Paris Post Mark DA0320 with the same stain as well as Pumice Stone.

I must give props to many people for making this particular adventure possible.

- Thanks to my dear friend Kim C, or KimmyC70 at Scrapbook.com for the suggestion to add tire traks to the layout.  Kitty left some tire tracks as she peeled rubber.  I am not even sure how Kitty can "peel rubber" with a camper - yet another reason you should be turning AWAY from her if you see her.   Kim is so very inspirational and creative and I often seek her help for scrappy 911 assistance.  Thanks Kim.

- The photo was donated to Escape Kitty by Maryanne Stanford, aka Oziem at Scrapbook.com.  Mayanne's gallery is simply amazing.   Maryanne is currently traveling OUT of the country.  What does THAT tell you?  She lends Kitty a motorcycle and then promptly leaves the area?  See what I'm saying about Kitty's skills?   Thanks Maryanne.

- Thanks to Maggi Harding for letting Chena travel with Miss Kitty and trusting your beloved pup with my crazy wild Kitty.  Maggi's collaboration on the Escape Kitty Adventures is so much fun.   Maggi also has  additional adventures on her blog, along with mind blowing artwork.   Thanks Maggi.

- Thanks a million to Michelle Grant at Dusty Attic for this wonderful design.   She really has a gift for sketches.

Thanks for looking here.

Escape Kitty - Dreaming From the Window - Scraps Of Darkness Reveal

It's reveal day!  Yippee.  Kitty's here to help unveil the April Scraps Of Darkness, Sakurbana Kit.  I had to look up the word.  It's definitely NOT part Kitty-lingo like, say, tuna, mouse, and catnip would be.
Sakurbana is Japanese for cherry blossom. This kit has a cool exotic edge to it this month.  Right up Kitty's alley.  Now this is not going to shock you - but once again Kitty whole heartedly believes the kit was created with her in mind...exotically speaking.

This layout was created using the design by Charlotte Jenkins, also known as suepup.  Thanks Charlotte for your monthly inspiration.

Kitty, Kitty, Kitty - not everything is about you.  She can find an angle to nearly anything.
Here is the kit photo.  Magnificent.

Escape  Kitty -Dreaming from My Window
Kitty created this for Renea Harrison's Stalker Challenge that runs April - June at Scraps of Darkness/ Scraps Of Elegance.

Here is a quick run down of Renea's rules.
This month we are going to do a twist on the Stalker Challenge, and pretend that I am the Stalker. I have become your Stalker and I am know stalking your home. I want you to pick out a room in your home that I would see and tell me something about that room. Beginning the title with "This Is Where I .........".

Kitty did not title this exactly as the directions said, well, because I helped her with the title and sometimes I am "direction challenged".  LOL.  So this is what we are stuck with -sorry Kitty.

Anyway, this is Escape Kitty and her cat brother, StayBehindCat just gazing out the open window enjoying the fresh morning air.   This seems to be "Central Command" at our house for the cats.  This is
where they dream, nap, converse with the birds and squirrels and generally enjoy life at home.

You can almost see the wheels turning in Kittys head.  Almost.

There is a rub on here to the left of the photo that is sooooo  puuurfect for Miss Kitty reads:
I may not have gone where I intended to go but I think I've ended up where I intended to be.

I used some Dusty Attic chandeliers small 2pk DA0080, painted black and added some accent gems.
Give Kitty a little ritz to her view.

I also used a Prima mask and stenciled the bottom and top corner with black paint.

Thanks for coming to Kitty's page.  Please visit us at Scraps Of Darkness.

Oh My Goodness ME! - I am featured at CSI- Colors, Stories and Inspiration

Colors, Stories and Inspiration case file #13

Oh My, Oh Me.  I was selected as the CSI Star Witness this week.  I am honored beyond my wildest dreams - and those tend to be WILD!

Perhaps they picked me because of my exotic looks and winning charm?  I'm willing to give my "handler", Jennifer a tad bit 'o credit BUT I'm sticking with the good looks angle on this BIG WIN!  Sorry momma.

The Star Witness award is for what I call ROBUST story tellin.  If there is ONE THING I do best, it's story embellishing.  Well, after escaping.   So that's really two things I do best.  I think the list might include a few more things.  Lets just round up and say I do about ten things really great.  LOL - My modesty is tops.  whoops my mistake, make that eleven.

Anyway, thanks a million great staff at CSI.  You are dear to my Kitty heart.

By the way, I share the spot light in looks this week with Bunny.   Bunny Kitty, that is.  Yeah, I know, right?  His name still makes me giggle.  Is he cat?  Is he Bunny? But he sure is hoppin cute.

Here is the layout that is featured and Mr Bunny Kitty's special moment in the spot light.

Thanks again to Teri Pannesi who sent me Bunny's photo and asked me to make him a star.  With dreamy looks like that?  He needs NO help and NO matchmakers assistance (swoon).  Please check out  TeriP.  Thanks a  million for  contributing to the Escape Kitty Adventures.

And special thanks to good folks like you that love cats.  Please remember to Help a Cat OUT and LIKE me on Facebook.  Only YOU can help this cat out.

Hoppy Easter

Just me wishing you all a Hoppy Easter!
I am back from my outing with Bunny.  Gotta be honest.  It wasn't quite what I expected when I set out to meet Bunny, BUT I actually think it was better.  A day with a new friend.  Who can beat that?  Nothing usually turns out how I expected and that is what makes my life puuuuurfect.  Can't be getting my tail in a furball over the unexpected.

So anyway, I am sitting here amongst my favorite Easter snacks.  Bunny Peeps?  YUM.  I love to lick the sugar off their ears first.  Then I go for the eyeballs.  Once they are cleanly licked off, I bite the ears and toss the peep in the air, batting it around with my paws.  The game ends when the whole peep gets so sticky that it clings like glue to my fur.

At that point, I look ridiculous and I am done.  Get that yellow mess off me.

So how do YOU eat peeps?   What do you bite off first on a chocolate bunny?   Ears - definitely the ears.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very wonderful day.  My thoughts are with those who cannot be here today.

Escape Kitty - Surprise! Is this The Easter Bunny?

Escape Kitty - Surprise! Is this The Easter Bunny?
Escape Kitty got a wonderful invitation to meet Bunny for an Easter get together.  Seeing as Escape Kitty was Santa's personal assistant last Christmas in Episode #32, Kitty now seems to think that all the Holiday "Greats" are dying to mingle with her.  Sadly, the St Patrick's Day Leprechaun passed her by this year, and he's one that we both could really have used!

Now back to Bunny.  How completely puuuuuurfect is this invitation  from Bunny to affirm Kitty's theory about hobnobbing with the Holiday Superstars.   "Yes yes yes" was Kitty's reply.

Off she went to meet Bunny, with a hop and a skip in her cat-step.  A polite scratch on the door and a sweet-faced cat comes running. I bet he thought it was a chance to escape - but no, it was only EK at the door.
The Exchange went something like this:
"Hello, I am Escape Kitty and I am here to meet Bunny".

"How wonderful to meet you.  Let's go."

"Ohhhh.  Are we meeting the Easter Bunny someplace?", asked Kitty with a puzzled look on her furry face.

"The Easter Bunny? How fun!  I'd love to meet the Easter Bunny.  Let's go."

Now Kitty's whiskers are twitching and she is confused. "I received, an invitation from the Easter Bunny  for a little outing."

"That was not from the Easter Bunny.  That was from me.  MY name is Bunny.  Bunny the Cat."

IMAGINE Kitty's SURPRISE?     Who names their sweet kitty, Bunny?  But in Kitty's world, all ends well, they had a hopping great time together and EK made yet another new friend.  One that could actually come for a visit and be welcomed as opposed to her other friends that would not even fit in my front door, like the wolf she met, the Alaskan moose and bear, and the Aussie kangaroo

By the way, the ever hopeful, ever optimistic and ever confident Kitty still believes that Holiday "Greats" are lining up to meet her soon.  This was simply an oversight and the invitations got mixed up in the postal system.

Actually Bunny is a totally adorable name for this darling cat, sent to me by TeriP, Teri Pannesi.  Teri saw Kitty's poster and decided to answer Kitty's plea for help.  Thanks a million for  contributing to the Escape Kitty Adventures.  Go check out her sweet Bunny and her wonderful artwork in her gallery at SB.com.  She has a sense of humor that can crack this cat up for certain.

Incidentally, Kitty could always use MORE help from YOU.  As she so eloquently puts it, "Kitty Needs You for her next crazy adventure".

Now on to the specifics of the layout.  this was created using a combo of Scraps of Elegance and Scraps of Darkness kits, mostly Scraps of Elegance, March Kit.  Great kits, gorgeous papers and embellies for an amazing scrapping experience. Please check us out and consider joining.

Anyway I pulled out what I needed from both kits so that I could participate in CSI-Colors, Stories and Inspiration case file #13.

Scraps Of Elegance April Kit - Awakening

Escape Kitty wants to welcome you to the April Scraps Of Elegance, Awakening.    The kit is gorgeous and features the Moxxie, Spring Has Sprung Collection, Glitz Pretty in Pink and Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee.  Plus Renea Harrison has handcrafted some wonderful dragon flies for this kit.
Please join us and see what you can create.

Scraps of Elegance and Scraps of Darkness are having DT Calls.  Please visit the blog for the rules and expectations.

Special Message from Kitty........The DT call is only open to humans.  I have a pretty sweet Mascot gig here and don't want ANY competition.  Got that?  Are we clear?

phew - with that business out of the way, lets proceed to Kitty's page:

In My Easter Bonnet
It's not enough that Kitty is Mascot Designer, she also wants to be Queen of the Easter Parade, all decked out in her fancy bonnet and pearls.  My pearls actually, Kitty.  Let's give credit where credit is due.

She's giving us her glam look and feeling all girlie today.  The glam look was quickly followed by the sleepy napping look, just so you know.

But I do have to say that Kitty is looking her Easter best here.  Which is better?  The Pirate look, the sporty swim mask,   or the girlie look?

I used the Dusty Attic Vine Border DA0459.  I painted with Adirondack Snow Cap, Sandal and Citrus.
Then I inked the edges with some Ingvild Bolme chalk in Moss Lawn.  That is great chalk.

I rolled my paper flowers using the tutorial by Rachelle Sigurdson found at Scraps of Darkness.

Thanks for looking.
