Who is Escape Kitty?

Let me introduce myself. I am Escape Kitty.

I got my start on Sept 1, 2010 as I was out playing in the yard enjoying the birds and squirrels. Really just minding my own business. Happy. Content. Daydreaming.

When, but in an instant, I caught a movement in the corner of my eye. Since cats are noted for their superior vision, I had to do a double take because I thought my eyesight had failed me. I shut my kitty eyes for a moment and reopened them to disbelief.

A coyote? In MY yard? Could it be? And he's drooling my way? Move move move! Find my mom . Run to safety.

Big mistake! Really big mistake. Now she never lets me outside. Done - left to dream. ahhhhh but Kitty dreams really do come true.

So come follow me! I am off to Escape.

Escape Kitty - Meet Me at the Hoedown - CSI Colors, Stories, Inspiration and Once Upon A Sketch

Escape Kitty - Meet Me at the Hoedown.
The best way to read this story is to listen to the music.  Kickin up a little Hoedown, country atmosphere. Let's have some FUNNNNN.

Brooks & Dunn "Boot Scootin Boogie "

Puuuuurfect -now that we've got some tunes going in the background, let's get on with Kitty's story.

Kitty slapped this together for the CSI - Colors, Stories, Inspiration case file #36 AND Once Upon A Sketch.  The two challenges are teaming up for the month of September.  The design is based on the sketch by Nadia Cannizzo.  Thanks Nadia!

The Evidence:  leaves and mesh
The Testimony:  Acrostic - this is a type of poem that uses the letters of a topic word to  begin each line.

So what's she doing?
It's fall.  Fall reminds Kitty of hoedown season.  Not really sure why, but who's to make sense of Kitty's mind?  So she's got her cowgirl outfit on, boots and all.  Now she's just gotta wait for the puuurfect opportunity to scoot and skedaddle.    A little "Boot Scootin Boogy" Kitty style if you will.

Escape Kitty
Each fall when the leaves turn red,
Something starts a tappin underneath my bed.
Cowboy boots,
All ready to go.
Pop them on her front paws and
Escape off to the show.

Kitty's going to the hoedown
In the blink of an eye
To see her favorite country band
To dance neath starry sky.
(Ya'll are invited)  wink - giddyup.

I used a piece of Dusty Attic Leafy Stem DA0447 to blend in with my Sizzix leaf die cuts.   I added some embossing powders to them to help make them a bit more Fall like.  I used Tim Holtz Antique Linen  and Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder in Byzantine Bronze.

Thanks for looking.
